On Friday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m., the splendid archaeological area of the Villa Romana delle Grotte in Portoferraio will host an original event dedicated to the island's art and historical memory. In the open-air setting overlooking the sea, the educational and artistic workshop "A Postcard from the Caves," one of the flagship initiatives included in the rich regional Amico Museo program, will be held.
The activity, designed as a creative, shared experience ideal for families, will allow participants to improvise as artisans for a day.
Taking inspiration from real Roman artifacts unearthed during excavations in the archaeological area of the Augustan villa, young and old alike will try their hand at making personalized handmade prints. Through the use of stencils, colors and creativity, everyone will give life to their own special author's "postcard," a tangible and unique memento that blends the charm of Elba's archaeology with the pleasure of handcrafting.
