The Tuscan Archipelago National Park is looking forward to welcoming you to participate in a 'beach clean-up' event, the first in a series of initiatives that will take place over the coming months thanks to the Sea.Net project, financed under the European Union's LIFE programme.
The protagonists are the marine sites of the Natura 2000 Network, a system of marine protected areas of fundamental importance for nature conservation in Europe. With Life Sea.Net, together with Legambiente, the project leader, there will be an opportunity to visit the Tuscan Archipelago, but also other protected areas in Italy, to become aware of the many species and environments found in our
water. In the Tuscan Archipelago, a rich calendar of events promoted by the National Park.

FISHERMEN'S CAFÈ: three meetings with professional fishermen, two on the Island of Elba and one on the Island of Capraia, moments in which life experiences dedicated to the sea are shared, to foster dialogue and cooperation.

BIOBLITZ: four Citizen Science events, two on Elba, one on Pianosa and one on Capraia. These are initiatives that make citizens the protagonists in the search for species present in coastal and marine environments; with the help of a special APP it will be possible to store information on fauna and flora, subsequently evaluated by experts.

MARE AMICO (Friendly Sea): two initiatives aimed at yachtsmen stopping or anchored in some bays of the islands of Elba and Capraia, during which expert technicians will provide information on the Posidonia oceanica meadows and how to protect them. Five shore-based activities, one for each island of the archipelago involved in the project, with an information desk on the theme of the Natura 2000 Network and the best pra c tices to adopt to protect the sea.

BEACH CLEAN UP: seven events dedicated to cleaning the beaches of Pianosa, Elba and Capraia, personally involving inhabitants and visitors with reflections on "marine litter", in particular on the plastics that threaten the integrity of marine ecosystems. The events, which will take place from April to September 2024, will offer a unique opportunity to actively participate in the conservation and enhancement of the Tuscan Archipelago's marine environment.
