From Sunday, July 5 to Sunday, July 12, the ancient walls of the Fortress of San Niccolò in San Piero in Campo will serve as an extraordinary setting for "Mnemolitica," a photographic exhibition of exceptional cultural and scientific interest devoted entirely to the fascinating megalithic system of Elba Island.

A journey through stone, memory and stars

The exhibition, carefully curated by Paolo Nannini, offers a visual and conceptual investigation that makes use of the valuable contribution of archaeoastronomer Henry de Santis. Through the shots in the exhibition, visitors will be able to discover and delve into the secrets of the great prehistoric stone monuments that dot the Elban territory, analyzed not only in their archaeological guise but also in their mysterious and millenary relationship with the movement of the stars and constellations.

The event is officially part of the rich program of "Eventi Estate 2026 - San Piero in Campo, " the summer festival promoted in the Campese hills to enliven the village through a widespread calendar of exhibitions, cultural meetings and musical performances. Hosting an exhibition on the stones of memory inside a medieval granite fortress creates a temporal and aesthetic short-circuit of great suggestion.
