From Friday, June 12 to Sunday, June 14, the heart of Portoferraio is preparing to travel the world without moving from the island. In fact, the long-awaited appointment with the European Market is back, a great international open-air festival entirely dedicated to flavors, craft traditions and curiosities from every corner of Europe and beyond. For three consecutive days, the city's main streets and squares will be transformed into a colorful and lively bazaar, giving residents and tourists a unique sensory experience.
Walking among the stands, visitors will be overwhelmed by an irresistible mix of scents and tastes. The European Market is the ideal destination for lovers of good food: the area dedicated to gastronomy will host numerous food trucks and international kitchens with sweet and savory specialties ready to be enjoyed on the spot. From typical grills to traditional dishes from various European countries, everything will be accompanied by a rich selection of craft drinks and typical beers, perfect for an alternative lunch or an evening snack in a festive atmosphere open to all.
Along with temptations for the palate, the event offers a wonderful commercial showcase dedicated to handmade and originality. Among the market stalls it will be possible to discover and purchase:
Artistic handicrafts: Unique artifacts from Europe's diverse manufacturing traditions.
Household and gift items: Original decorating ideas, fabrics and accessories.
Wellness products: Natural cosmetics, essences, spices and remedies from the herbalist tradition.
A perfect mix of proposals, designed for those who like to be intrigued by particular objects and make unusual purchases outside the classic commercial circuits.
Location: Portoferraio, the event runs along a central loop that includes Viale Manzoni, Piazza Stella Marina and Via Vittorio Emanuele.
Hours: The exhibition booths and street kitchens will operate continuously from morning until late evening all three days.
Access: Entrance to the market area is completely free.
Who it's for: Families, young people, market enthusiasts and anyone who wants to experience Portoferraio in a cheerful, dynamic and decidedly cosmopolitan way.
