The Palace, a film directed by Roman Polanski, is a drama set on 31 December 1999.

The Palace Hotel is a luxury hotel located in an early 20th century castle in the Swiss mountains. The structure is reminiscent of a fairytale location completely covered in snow. For New Year's Eve 2000, the hotel is preparing to welcome rich and eccentric guests who expect to spend the most extraordinary New Year's Eve of their lives. An unforgettable transition to the new millennium. Ensuring these high expectations are Hansueli (Oliver Masucci), manager of the hotel, and his large staff of waiters, porters, cooks and receptionists. Everything is carefully and meticulously prepared, every request and vice of the distinguished guests must be met to perfection. But the absurdity and unpredictable degradation that will befall the party and its participants is entirely unpredictable.
