Elba inaugurates the Marian route for Pentecost

The walk leading to Jubilee 2025 starts from an inner rediscovery of the value of prayer in daily life, all the more important on the day dedicated to the Holy Spirit, the Pentecost: it will not be a true Jubilee unless it starts from the Spirit and the work accomplished in Mary. It is to celebrate this deep and indissoluble bond that, in view of the Holy Year, on the island of Elba, a Marian route is inaugurated, involving four shrines dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

The Marian pilgrimage includes four days of prayer in preparation for Pentecostwhich will be held in churches and sanctuaries located in some of the island's main towns: it starts on Wednesday 15 May in Capoliveri, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Gracewhere confessions are scheduled at 10 a.m., adoration at 4 p.m. and mass at 5 p.m.; it continues on Thursday 16 May in Porto Azzurro, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Montserratowith the rosary at 4.30 p.m. and mass at 5 p.m.; on the third day, the faithful will gather in prayer in Portoferraio, at the Church of Mercy dedicated to Our Lady of Loreto, where adoration will be held at 4 p.m. and Mass at 5 p.m.; finally, the day before Pentecost, Saturday 18 May, will be the time for Holy Mass at 11 a.m. at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Mount in Marciana.

A a multi-stage route that is both physical and spiritual, linking the main Marian centres in the area and allowing the faithful to embark on an interior yet transcendent journey.
