Vigilanti Theatre

An authentic Napoleonic jewel that encapsulates one of the most significant architectural examples on the entire island. A space precious for its artistic connotation, for its genesis, and for its great value in welcoming artistic vitality and in confirming itself as a cultural reference point for an entire community

Need to know

The theatre's long and fascinating history begins in the 17th century, when a small funeral chapel was built, later transformed into the Church of the Carmine during the 18th century. In 1814, during the Napoleonic era, it was converted into a theatre space. Today it is an artistic cultural landmark for the whole community. Recently restored, it offers, unique on the island, important theatrical and musical events, also at international level.
